DID YOU KNOW?
The population of the San Juan Islands nearly doubles in the summer. As full-time residents, we have a unique opportunity to support our local businesses during the off-season when our community is quieter.
POPULATION SNAPSHOT
According to the 2020 Census, about 8,600 people lived full-time on San Juan Island. By 2023, that number grew to roughly 9,100. During the summer, our population surges to between 17,000 and 19,000 thanks to visitors, seasonal workers, and part-time residents.

One of our key initiatives is sponsoring scholarships for local students. We believe in nurturing the next generation and providing the support they need to pursue their educational goals. These scholarships help alleviate some of the financial burdens of higher education, allowing talented young individuals from our islands to thrive and contribute back to our community. We take pride in helping shape the future of the San Juan Islands through education.
Additionally, we actively volunteer our time to support various local events and initiatives. Our team regularly participates in community service projects, from the Island Neighbors Firewood Program headed by the Joyce L. Sobel Family Resource Center to fundraising events for local charities. We recognize the importance of fostering a strong sense of community and strive to be involved in activities that bring people together and enhance the quality of life in our area.
